When I first started playing at the age of 6, my parents bought me a Ludwig Reuther 4 Piece drum kit in the Sparkle Red finish, (Just like my hero at the time, Neil Peart of RUSH) As I got older and added more pieces on to the kit,  I realized that by that time, this kit was pretty outdated.  So after I got in High School, (in Austin, Texas), I went to the nearest drum shop and bought myself a brand new Tama Rockstar in the Brushy Chrome finish.  It was a seven piece, beautiful sounding kit,.... and after that...........I haven't used any other brand of kit.
 
The following is a list of my equipment for my current kit.  My last three kits I have used, were Tama Kits, because I feel that Tama has always given me the response, warm tones, and crisp attacks that I was looking for.  Plus they are not as expensive as some of the others.  Great sound and affordability,..........You can't beat that.              TAMA rocks. 
 
This is the Equipment list for the monster:

Tama Rockstar DX (1995) Majestic Purple Color, Deep Shells....22" Bass Drum,
8", 10", 12", 13" toms, & 16" Floor tom, with a 14" tom by the Hi-hat.  Tama Snare, Gibraltar Prowler Double Bass Pedals, 14" Sabian Pro Hi-hat cymbals,(Courtesy of Kelly Keagy), 14' Paiste Hi-Hat Cymbals(Secondary Hi-hat) a Sabian Pro Ride Cymbal, Various 14" & 16" Zildjian and Sabian Cymbals, 8" Zildjian splash,   16" & 10" Hand-hammered Wuhan China Boys, CB700 Cowbell, RhythmTech (DST) DrumSet Tambourine, and Tama & Pearl Hardware.

Sticks:  ProMark 5A, 5B, and Rock 747 Drumsticks
